Comeback

Terms of use

These terms cover your use of the Comeback iPhone app. Please read the health and safety section — it is the part that matters most.

Effective

Health and safety

Comeback is a training planner, not medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat, heal or rehabilitate anything, and it is not a substitute for professional medical or physiotherapy care.

Consult a doctor before starting a new training programme, particularly if you have an existing injury or medical condition, are pregnant, are recovering from illness or surgery, or have not trained for a long time.

If something hurts, stop. Resistance training carries a risk of injury. You are responsible for training within your own capability, for using safe technique, and for judging whether a suggested weight or exercise is appropriate for you on the day. Comeback suggests loads based on what you have logged; it cannot see you, and it does not know how you feel.

One of the reasons you can give for swapping an exercise is that something does not feel right. When you do, Comeback offers a different movement for that slot. That is all it does — it is not an assessment and not a treatment. If a problem carries on, stop training that movement and see a physiotherapist or doctor.

You use Comeback at your own risk, and you accept that neither the app nor its developer is responsible for injury arising from your training.

Agreement

These terms form an agreement between you and Comeback (“we”, “us”), the developer of the Comeback iPhone app. By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

Licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Comeback on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with the App Store Terms of Service.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the app
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense it
  • Remove or obscure any proprietary notice
  • Extract the exercise catalogue or other content for use in another product or service

The exercise content

Comeback includes a curated catalogue of 142 exercises with descriptions, coaching cues and equipment requirements. This catalogue was authored during development. It has not been reviewed or validated by a qualified strength and conditioning professional, a physiotherapist or a doctor. It is offered as general information about common resistance training movements, not as personalised instruction, and you should not rely on it as though it were.

Subscriptions

Comeback is free to download and free to use. Comeback Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription:

  • Monthly — £7.99 per month
  • Yearly — £39.99 per year

Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Prices shown in the App Store for your region take precedence. We may change prices; a change will not affect a period you have already paid for, and Apple will notify you where it is required to.

Free trial

New subscribers are offered a 7-day free trial. At the end of the trial the subscription automatically becomes paid at the price above, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you have already used a free trial for Comeback, you are not eligible for another.

Renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours beforehand. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.

You can cancel at any time on your iPhone in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Comeback, or in the App Store app under your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Payments and refunds

All payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or process your payment details. Refunds are administered by Apple under its own policies — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue a refund for an App Store purchase ourselves.

What Premium changes

Premium removes the limits on swaps, on graded comeback plans, on in-app history beyond 30 days, and on strength trends, and adds automatic progression and the ability to rebuild your programme. It does not gate training itself: on the free tier you can follow your programme, log every session and export all of your data, indefinitely.

Your data

Comeback stores your training on your device, and in your own private iCloud database if you are signed in. We do not receive it. Export of your complete data as a CSV file is free on every plan. See the privacy policy for the detail.

Acceptable use

Use Comeback lawfully and for its intended purpose. Do not attempt to circumvent the subscription mechanism or access paid features without subscribing, interfere with the app’s operation or integrity, or use it in any way that infringes the rights of others.

Intellectual property

The app, its name, its brand mark, its design, its source code and its exercise catalogue are owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property law. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you. The training data you create is yours.

Availability and changes

Comeback is an iPhone app requiring iOS 17.0 or later. It is not available for iPad, Apple Watch or Android. We may update, change or discontinue features. We may also change these terms; if we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page, and material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.

No warranty

Comeback is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its training suggestions will produce any particular result.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for loss of data, or for loss of profit, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for Comeback in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.

Termination

You may end this agreement at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, limitation of liability and governing law — do so.

Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your use of Comeback, and where these terms conflict with it, Apple’s EULA prevails in respect of App Store purchases. You can read it at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula . Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
